    In today’s world of manufactured music, Tokyo joe. stands our from the crowd. Though most of the music is of the rock genre, lead vocalist and founder Greg Bickley credits musicians like Billy Joel and Elton John as early influences. Indeed, that inspiration is evident in Bickley’s sultry vocals each time he picks up the mic. Also the band’s songwriter, guitarist, and pianist, Bickley was voted “Best Male Vocalist,” adding to an ever-growing list of band awards that include “Best Rock/Pop Band”, “Best CD Release” and “Best Band” in Savannah, GA, Columbia, SC, Hilton Head, SC and Beaufort, SC.

ColaJazz is a multifaceted jazz organization based in Columbia, SC with an educational and outreach arm as well. ColaJazz brings internationally recognized jazz stars to Columbia, SC while also highlighting and celebrating Columbia’s jazz talent.

    Astrud Gilberto is a Brazilian samba and bossa nova singer. She became well known in the 1960s for her performance of the song "The Girl from Ipanema”.

    Nyamka OdsurenNyamka Odsuren, the founder of ColaClassics (a sister organization of ColaJazz), will be presenting two chamber music concerts on March 15th and April 12th. The Chamber Music Series strives to reach new audiences with its programming and showcase local musicians in intimate settings.

    Celebrating Dexter Gordon! Dexter Gordon, born in February 1923, was one of the most melodic, laid back and loved American jazz tenor saxophonist. Gordon's height was 6 feet 6 inches, so he was also known as "Long Tall Dexter" and "Sophisticated Giant”. Dexter wrote incredible small group group jazz compositions and we’ll be bringing these sounds to life again!
    Special guest on Saxophone TBD.

    At 5’2″, comedian Jenn Synder packs a whole lot of funny in her one-two punch style of comedy. Topics ranging from her days growing up as a lesbian in a “good ol’ boy” town, to her dealing with the public on a daily basis, this comedian will pull you in with her stories and leave you wanting more with her quick wit and hilarious observations. Born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, her ultimate goal is to unite all people through laughter.
